To promote the London Toe Wrestling Championship, multi-talented writer, producer and director Elizabeth McCafferty, created a playful, 1970s-inspired low-budget 'TV commercial' for social media.

With its viral reputation and cult following, the championship is a wonderfully eccentric event, blending fierce competition with big personalities, roaring crowds, music, beer, and plenty of toe-themed antics. It’s a sporting spectacle that doesn’t take itself too seriously - until the match begins.

Appearing as Barry Pritchard, creator of 'Golden Grip Toe Insurance', I reached out to potential entrants, offering both emotional and practical counselling services!

The commercial was shot in just four hours in a characterful East London house that hadn’t been redecorated in over 50 years - adding the perfect retro backdrop to this quirky production.
